Freesat Parental Channel Viewing Control

If you are concerned about your children accessing inappropriate programmes and channels whilst you are not with them, then worry no more.

Via the Parental Control function you can choose what your children can and cannot watch.

The following example of how to use Parental Control set up is based on the Humax range of tuners.

What can I do with the Parental Control function?

It  allows you to set up password control for live or recorded content, change the password, and lock the setup menu.

Tip: If asked to enter a password or code - the default password is 0000.

On your remote control: -

1. Press the MENU button.

2. Select Settings and press the OK button.

3. Select Parental Control and press the OK button.

4. You will be prompted to enter your password/code.

Enter the password/code using the NUMERIC(0-9) buttons.

1. Guidance Policy

Now enabling the Guidance Policy option will mean any programmes (or

recordings) that have “guidance information”, which is transmitted by the TV broadcasters with certain programmes with inappropriate content for “children” will require the password/code to be entered to view them.

1. Select Guidance Policy and press the OK button.

2. Select Enable or Disable using the OK button.

Note: Guidance information is only available in freesat mode.

2. Age Limit

The “Age Limit” option enables you to place certain restrictions on the viewers by setting age limits. A password must be entered to view the content.

1. Select Age Limit and press the OK button.

2. Select the age limit you wish to set.

Note: Age Limit is only available in non-freesat mode and will require the age classification information to be sent by the broadcasters.

3. Change Password

Changing the Password allows you to change the current password/code .

1. Select Change Password and press the OK button.

2. Enter the password/code in New Password using the NUMERIC(0-9) buttons.

3. Enter the password/code again in Verify Password to confirm.

4. Installation Lock

The Installation Lock function allows you to block access to the setup menu; the password/code will be required to enter the  menu when this option is enabled.

1. Select Installation Lock.

2. Select Enable or Disable using the OK
